I’m the girl who can get lost in a song.
when certain songs come on, I’m gone. I just close my eyes.
I’m the girl who gets lost in I Am Mine by Pearl Jam, Left Coast Envy by The Starting Line, I Woke Up in a Car by Something Corporate.
my eyes close. my mind wanders. I’m in the song. the song becomes a part of me. I forget about everything and everyone else. it’s just me, and the song.
the song always has a special significance. a very particular memory attached to it. a feeling, a movement, a smile, a hug, something. but it’s not the memory that triggers the getting lost.
it’s the song.
always the song.
I would die without music.
funny story.
when my brother and I were in high school, he would never, ever wake up on time. ever.
we also had identical radios in our rooms, with identical remotes.
so, one week, I was fed up with his lazy ass. I put my Issues by Korn CD in his stereo, set it to the right CD slot (there were 6) and waited until the morning. when an hour passed, and he still didn’t wake up for school, I turned his radio on (using my identical remote,) jacked the volume ALLLLL the way up (he had his four speakers set around his bed) and turned this song on for him.
needless to say, he made it to school on time all week ^.^
